A certificate is provided which
places full responsibility for the flood determination on NFR. |
In order to guarantee the flood
determination, NFR carries a professional Errors and Omissions insurance policy. This
covers each certification with the maximum amount allowed by the NFIP (example: A single
family residential property is covered up to $250,000). |
All flood determinations are
based on legal criteria. Evidence is always provided showing that the most current and
proper FIRM map was used to determine the flood status of the property (community name,
community number, panel, suffix, and the date of publication). |
All research is "Hand
Mapped" , involving the over-laying of flood maps onto street maps, plat maps, and
property surveys. The property is then drafted using an architects scale to provide
the most accurate determination possible. No statistical research is done. |
Copies of the flood map and plat
map are automatically sent when a certification is questioned or when a call is made. |

We can arrange point-of-scale
and force-place flood insurance through an insurance company at your request. |
By having properties certified,
you are always in compliance with the Flood Disaster Protection Act of 1973. |

We will help start the process
of a LOMR (Letter Of Map Revision) or LOMA ( Letter Of Map Amendment) for properties that
lie within a SFHA (Special Flood Hazard Area) but are above the designated flood
elevation. |
